01 / Intro A short biography

Builder, mostly. Surprised by the rest.

When I look back at my own resume, it honestly surprises me a little.

Somehow, over the past couple of decades, I've gone from software development and startup ideas to manufacturing, acquisitions, governance, design-build projects, entrepreneurship, and boardrooms. Some of it was carefully planned. A lot of it wasn't.

These days I'm the Managing Director of a Canadian design-build manufacturing organization, sit on boards in financial services, host a podcast about people shaping the built environment, and quietly chip away at a handful of long-term real estate and development projects on the side.

I've always felt more comfortable talking through big ideas, solving complex problems with a team, and figuring things out as we go. At the end of the day, I still feel more like a builder than a corporate executive.

04 / Projects Personal · Long-term · Slow

A few things I'm building.

Properties, developments, and long-term ideas I'm working on. Some practical, some ambitious, some probably both. Mostly the kind of thing that happens slowly, between everything else.

About

A software developer
who somehow ended up
running a manufacturer.

Two decades, several businesses, a Canadian design-build operation, a few boards, an MBA somewhere in the middle, and a long list of things that didn't go to plan. Most of it more interesting in retrospect than it felt at the time.
